An Afternoon, On the Water

Mahogany, brass, and a cashmere throw — the boat that earns the time off.

A day on a private yacht is not a stunt. Done correctly, it is the quietest day of the year — slow water, soft brass, and a single bottle of champagne, opened late.

Leave the dock at three, not noon. The light is better, the breeze kinder, and the bay quieter.

Provision simply: a board of fresh figs, burrata, prosciutto, and good bread. Anything more competes with the view.

Return at sunset, not after. The walk from the dock to dinner is the trip's last good moment — do not miss it.
